AMCA 260 Induced Flow Testing
AMCA 260 is a specific type of test that is used to establish the aerodynamic efficiency of an induced flow product. In laboratory fume exhaust systems it is very important to dilute noxious air with ambient air to meet EPA regulations. A combination of a figure 12 test and a figure 15 test is used for this testing. Figure 12 test is a test where air is blown into the chamber and figure 15 test is where it is drawn out of the chamber. In order to establish the true induction of air at the different operating points, a combination of both tests is required. Instead of doing one test that is typically required for a normal fan, you have to do two tests to establish the performance of an induced flow fan because it involves not just the bare fan but also the flow due to the induction.
